Dr Barbara Ghinelli
I studied Electronic Engineering at York University and then I did a PhD in Space Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at Sheffield University. I am now a director at the UKRI Science and Technology Facilities Council and I lead the development of the Harwell National Science and Innovation Campus which includes technology in Space, Healthcare, Energy, Digital and Quantum. I previously worked for a multinational Space company, Airbus D&S. I have two children, the eldest of which studies at Bishop Luffa, and I am keen to promote the uptake of STEM subjects, which are so vital to help preserve the future of our planet.
