Tackling LBGTQ+ discrimination in school: Three Steps to Success
1. Educate
As a school we pride ourselves on being our best because everyone matters and so we should aim to educate people when they're being homophobic, transphobic or discriminatory against the LGBTQ+ community. It's vital that people understand that it is not okay to use slurs, offensive actions or offensive language towards the LGBTQ+ community. Educate and tell people that's not okay.
2. Report
The school has an email address dedicated to tackling this issue that you can email at any time for confidential support if someone is discriminating in school against you or someone you know. You can also speak to any member of staff or friend you feel comfortable talking to. The email you can report this is reporthomophobia@bishopluffa.org.uk
3. Be You
By educating and reporting these issues, we can create a safer and inclusive environment for everyone at Bishop Luffa School so that we may be ourselves and flourish.
