Go Green Week 2024
27 Sep
Once again Go Green Week took place in September. The aim of the week was to create a meaningful, memorable and fun week on environmental issues to generate awareness and an opportunity to take action to make a difference. Everyone was encouraged to get involved!
Each day there was a recycled Art Workshop and other activities during the week included:
- A Year 7 Litter Pick competition
- The lunchbox challenge (encouraging everyone to bring in a packed lunch that was plastic and meat free)
- Recycling Day where students were asked to bring in old batteries, good quality clothes for our swap shop and good quality books for a library book swap
- Car Free Day encouraging everyone to come to school in a sustainable way – cycling, walking, taking the bus or train, and car sharing.
- Go Green Bake Sale
- ‘Vinted’ came to Bishop Luffa with a clothes swap shop
Go Green Week culminated in a Upcycle Dress Up Day when students and staff was encouraged to come to school in a recycled costume or wear something from the charity shop.
We hope everyone had a fantastic week ‘Going Green!’
